Organized by the Arts Council of Midland, the annual Celebration of the Arts (COA) is a cornerstone event in the Permian Basin. As the longest-running downtown event in Midland, COA features over 60 national artists showcasing disciplines such as drawing, painting, photography, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, fiber, wood, and metal. The festival also includes live music, family-friendly activities, and special events throughout the weekend. The 42nd annual COA took place from May 15–17, 2026, at the Bush Convention Center, drawing thousands of art enthusiasts to downtown Midland.
Midland Art Crawl
The Midland Art Crawl is a quarterly, citywide event that transforms Midland into a creative hub, celebrating local talent and artistic expression. Each season, venues across the city host pop-up art showcases, live music, and interactive experiences. For instance, the “Hot Art Summer” Art Crawl on June 6, 2025, featured vibrant art installations, live performances, and immersive activities at venues like Velvet Mesquite, The Blue Door, Cotton Flat Records, Waystone, The Oaks, and FaFa Gallery. Upcoming events for 2026 are scheduled for January 23, April 17, August 28, and December 4, offering residents and visitors regular opportunities to engage with Midland’s dynamic arts scene.
Summer Art Fair
The Midland Center for the Arts hosts the annual Summer Art Fair, an exciting outdoor celebration of fine arts and crafts held in downtown Midland. The event attracts thousands of art lovers each year, featuring artists’ booths, delicious food, and live music from local bands.
